Violet Barungi's latest short story  "Impenetrable Barriers" was published by Critical, Cultural and Communication Press in "Butterfly Dreams and other New Short Stories from Uganda" an anthology edited by Dr. Emily Dawson.

Violet Barungi's play "Over my Dead Body" was published in an anthology of African women playwrights. The anthology edited by Kathy A. Perkins, comprises of nine plays written by African women from diverse backgrounds. The anthology also contains commentaries by each of the playwrights on their plays.

Violet is currently working on the following books:

On the Side of Angels (a novel with a socio-political story line)
Belated Harvest (a novel set in the last century, which focuses on gender imbalance and other social evils African women suffered and continue to suffer.)
When I grow up, I want to be…(a series of children’s short stories, which examine different career options. The first one in the series is, When I grow up, I want to be a Teacher)
